avantage Presents at BBA Operational Risk Seminar
On 23rd February 2010 we were pleased to be invited to participate in the BBA's Operational Risk Seminar. Jason Haines, Head of Financial crime and Data security at avantage, was one of the key speakers at this timely seminar.
Jason's focus was the responsibilities placed upon the shoulders of senior management in relation to financial crime and data security prevention. This is a very important topic, due to the increasing links between financial crime and data security prevention and risk management/operational risk strategies within financial institutions.
Jason's presentation covered the following issues:
- Financial crime-what subjects are in scope?
- High level senior management responsibilities.
- Managing the expectations of the regulator (UK and overseas).
- Data security-case study.
The seminar was well attended with a wide range of financial institutions represented.
