Our alliances

Making the right decision

We have developed and implemented a clear framework to assist us and our potential partners in reaching the right decision regarding business co-operation:

Strategy Development involves studying and aligning the alliance’s feasibility, objectives and rationale – focusing on the major challenges and developing resource strategies for production, technology and people.

Partner Assessment involves analysing a potential partner’s strengths and weaknesses. As well as creating strategies for accommodating partners’ management styles and preparing partner selection criteria, we look at a partner’s motives for joining the alliance and address resource capability gaps.

Contract Negotiation involves determining whether all parties have realistic objectives. We form high-calibre negotiating teams to define each partner’s contributions and rewards, protect any proprietary information and address termination/poor performance issues.

Alliance Operation involves addressing senior management’s commitment, finding the necessary resources, linking budgets and resources to strategic priorities, and measuring and rewarding alliance performance.

Assessing Performance involves assessing the performance of the partnership over a given project and either engaging in further projects and opportunities or winding down the alliance. This can happen, for instance, when its objectives have been met or cannot be met, or when a partner adjusts its priorities or re-allocates its resources elsewhere.
